If you have never visited The Texas Hill Country and more specifically the Utopia Area consisting of the towns of Rio Frio, Leakey and Concan Texas, you are definitely missing a gem. The Utopia and the Texas Hill Country is a serene getaway for visitors across the country and even world.

Some may know the area because of the famous Garner State Park or heard about the beautiful white rocks and crystal clear water that encompass the Frio.

From many years, many family has either lived or been coming to Utopia and just within the last few years discovered many areas you never knew existed. One day while feeling adventurous, it was ventured down in Leakey, Rio Frio and Concan. During the quest, many were amazed with the numerous beautiful lodges, camp and RV sites, country golf, real estate, river crossings, restaurants and stores, and even a helicopter ride! We figured if we never knew of these places after decades of residence, probably many tourists and even locals were also unaware.


The Frio River is known for its crystal clear water. The Frio area is a perfect place to visit for all seasons and offers very reasonable accommodations. Also nearby, are the beautiful towns of Bandera, Camp Wood, Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Medina, Vanderpool, and the beautiful town Utopia?

Each of the sites have a different name, which some have been named after historic markers. In the beautiful area there are a number of events and historical locations that make this actually hold the name true to be the wonderful "Utopia".
